FlowBlade brings together two props that embody both the staccato and the legato, strong and flowing. The movement is grounding, powerful, fluid, and meditative all at the same time. It allows us to move to so many different genres of music, and I can't wait to showcase our very first performance of this movement style.

You don't need to follow a specific dance style to enjoy FlowBlade, but an understanding of movement certainly helps.

My love for this has evolved over time. It was born from my desire to express myself through words. My husband is a writer, and a very good one. I love his style and the way he tells a story. One day, I said to him, "I'd love to express myself with words, but I don't have the vocabulary."

He replied, "Of course you can."

I got excited, and then he said something that changed everything:

"You dance beautifully. Why not convey your feelings through movement and tell a story that way?"

The rest is history.

I spent months training with my fan veils, moving, feeling, expressing. I explored emotions such as grief, happiness, sadness, and joy, using movement as a release. I have done the same with sword.

Now, I have brought the two together to share with others. FlowBlade is about creating a space where people can express, release, and simply be.

And that is the heart of FlowBlade.
